		Classes Classes are suitable for all grades and levels of fitness in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students benefit from all aspects of martial arts training, including sensitivity drills, conditioning, sparring and weapons training. Gradings The Kung Fu syllabus of Wutan UK follows a coherent and systematic progression into the Chinese martial arts as developed over 30 years by its founder, Master They. The styles of Wing Chun, Chang Chuan, Preying Mantis, Choi Lei Fut (5 Animals) are in our curriculum under black sash (belt) level. There are eight colours, representing 10 grades before black sash. The first sash can be achieved within three to four months of dedicated training attending classes once a week. Higher grades will take longer to achieve and senior students are expected to train with the WutanUK founder Soon Tuan They twice a year with and Master Wu’s Seminars once a year , for promotion to higher grades. Students who have a proven record of being well-disciplined and of good character will be taught advanced systems of Grandmaster Liu.
					Competitions Wutan UK holds regular competitions and although members are encouraged to attend, sparring remains optional in the classes. Categories in full or semi-contact sparring or points sparring allow practitioners to pit their competitive skills with others from around the UK and abroad. There are also categories in which weapon skills can be demonstrated. Those who do well are encouraged to compete on a national and international level. Over the years some of our members  have done well, a true credit to their hard work in training.
