Neil returned to
training once his kids had grown up and bought them along with him! He
writes:
“I started my
Kung Fu training in 1996 because I was interested in the art of Kung Fu and
to learn some self defence techniques. I enjoyed every training session and
found the classes worked very well to build up my skill and knowledge in
easy stages. As well as the techniques I found my fitness quickly improved
along with my confidence and in turn I had a stronger mental attitude
towards life in general. After only
a few training session I wished I had started Kung Fu when I was a lot
younger.
I studied Kung Fu for
5 years but due to the birth of my second child and family commitments I
found it difficult to give time to my training at a level I desired so
unfortunately had to stop my training.
I missed the training and did however return to Kung Fu when my
youngest child was 5 and started attending Kung Fu classes. Both my son and daughter have been
training in Kung Fu for over 12 months now and enjoy the lessons. I have quickly seen how they have
improved in the techniques; fitness and confidence. I enjoy watching my
children train and helping them to learn.
I have found that I enjoy my Kung Fu training a lot more now than
when I first joined and I think this because I have remembered a lot of the
techniques and by learning them again I feel that I can perform them to a
much better standard. Also when I
first started Kung Fu I felt the need to progress quickly through belts but
now I no longer feel this and like to spend time learning the techniques to
a good standard before moving on.”
